about

Maggie Evans is a Charlotte-based design firm rooted in timeless tradition and modern sensibility. Founded by dear friends Kelly Culp and Collins Cherry, Maggie Evans’ spaces combine periods and styles, while maintaining the comfort and practicality of everyday life. Having small children of their own, Kelly and Collins appreciate that beautiful spaces also need to be livable. Their custom designs incorporate function, durability, and high style.

Kelly has more than a decade of residential and commercial design experience and has worked alongside some of the country’s most celebrated designers including Jan Showers, Emily Summers, and Barrie Benson. Kelly’s designs reflect her distinctive eye for detail, color, and scale and incorporate her extensive knowledge of art and antiques. She began her undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, but Kelly’s lifelong love of design ultimately led her to the University of Florida's renowned College of Design, Construction, and Planning where she earned her degree with honors. A member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), she lives in Charlotte with her husband, Will, and their three children, Davis, Maggie, and McCall.

Collins is a North Carolina native with extensive experience designing events and spaces in cities up and down the East Coast.  After graduating from the University of Georgia, Collins worked with some of the country’s top tastemakers, including New York’s premier party planners, Van Wyck & Van Wyck. From creating spectacular events with Mimi Van Wyck to designing uniquely modern interiors with D.C.’s Liz Levin Interior Design, Collins has always been drawn to creative endeavors. Much like Collins herself, her designs exude Southern Hospitality, always feeling fresh and personal with deliberate details and unexpected touches. She lives in Charlotte with her husband, Copeland, and two children, Evans and Cope.

Kelly and Collins joined forces in 2017 after connecting over a mutual love of design, style, and of course, their kiddos. Maggie Evans’ name is derived from their two eldest daughters and their own special friendship.
